SBM is currently seeking a Designer/Draftsperson to join our electrical team in our Kitchener or London office. The successful candidate will assist the Electrical Engineering Department in designing/drafting of buildings in the residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial sectors. The candidate will be responsible for producing accurate, coordinated electrical models and drawings using Revit and Autocad, supporting our engineers and project managers throughout all project phases. The candidate will be expected to work both independently and within the project group to facilitate the design requirements to reach project completion. The candidate will also be encouraged to take on special project tasks to help promote efficiencies of current design procedures and will have the opportunity to attend occasional site visits to provide practical feedback to complement completed design work. Other duties may be assigned dependent on the experience and abilities of the chosen candidate.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed electrical models and drawings in Revit for permit, tender, and construction packages
- Coordinate electrical designs with other disciplines to ensure seamless integration
- Update and maintain Revit models to reflect design changes and project developments
- Assist in preparing documentation, schedules, and drawing sets for multiple project types
- Work closely with engineers to ensure designs meet code, standards, and client requirements
- Contribute to improving drafting standards and processes within the team
- Occasional site visits as required
- Other tasks as assigned by Electrical Team Lead(s), Engineers or Division Manager
Skills / Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of Revit experience in a consulting or construction environment
- Understanding of Canadian Electrical Code and general building systems considered an asset
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Completed Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma, Architectural Technology Diploma or equivalent
