Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of structural engineering designs and documents for low-rise new-build and renovation projects in the single and multi-family residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural market sectors.
- Conducting reviews / investigations of existing building structures and preparing condition assessment reports to document findings.
- Lead projects from initiation to close.
- Serve as the main point of contact with project stakeholders, delivering outstanding customer service and support.
- Coordinate designs with other disciplines (internal and external) in pursuit of optimal design, constructability, and long-term performance.
- Provide technical guidance to designers and junior team members.
- Review designs and drawings to ensure accuracy, adequacy, and conformance to the applicable codes and standards; seal own work and work prepared by junior team members.
- When required, complete site investigations, general reviews of construction, and preparation of corresponding field review reports.
- Review and control project budgets; assist with preparation of project invoices.
- Coordinate daily personal and team priorities to achieve project milestones.

- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
- Capable of working on several projects in different stages at the same time
- Adaptable and flexible to changing priorities
- Commitment to ongoing professional and personal growth; willingness to learn
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering from an accredited Canadian University (or equivalent)
- Registered as a licensed Professional Engineer or relevant L.E.T with the Professional Engineers of Ontario (candidates who have applied for licensure but have not yet been granted a license may be considered)
- 4+ years of experience in Structural Engineering related to design of buildings
- Experience in the design of light wood framing, masonry, steel, and reinforced concrete for buildings
- Experience with Provincial and local Municipality design guidelines, the Ontario Building Code, and other applicable Canadian engineering standards
- Proficient in structural analysis and design software applicable to role (WoodWorks Sizer, MASS, S-Frame, S-Concrete, ETABS preferred)
- Proficient in MS Office, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD
